right I got a fortnight off and it hasn't bloody stopped precipitating.
Gutter overflowing, river running down the drive. Even coming through the brickwork of the garage as some idiot (wife) left a bag of compost that formed a nice backstop to hold a good foot of height of the wet stuff.
I did venture out like a power ranger yesterday, came back after 5 minutes soaking wet. I took the wife for lunch today, got a battering for it when she had to walk through 8" deep lake to leave the pub.
So no loving reward for opening the wallet. and threats of having to buy new shoes. I hate English summers.

Very welcome young man.
Although I have to warn you that Lynne stubbed her little toe at the weekend and it went black. so had a word with her favourite orthopaedic consultant, he X rayed, confirmed as bust and signed her off. so home from work at 10am.
So I have time off from work, and have my financial controller/purchasing director/projects director at home with me. some break this will be.
Our rain has just left but not before taking the 'lec out for over an hour.
To celebrate not having to water the garden I've opened the JD, and Mrs B has just brought in the coca cola

I bought a bottle of JD today. plus a bottle of Taylors Late bottle.
Hmmm choices/choices. Just took Jasper for an empty.
The stream down the road has become a river. Who needs a hosepipe anyway. Too damm wet to do anything.

I have not long got home from work and it has taken me nearly 3 hours to travel 3.8 miles!
Lots of the main roads here are closed due to flooding and I can`t quite believe that the flyover from Seaforth to Crosby is closed with 2 cars submerged in about 3 foot of water at the bottom. Is absolute chaos here and I hope it`s clear by tomor else I am going to have major problems getting into work

Not sure which way you come in but if this rain continues tomor I would imagine that coming of the M62 into Liverpool will be very bad. Around Allerton and West Derby are particularly badly hit.
If you are coming in via M57 or M58 then Bootle/Seaforth are badly affected and there were lots of road closures tonight.
M53/A41 to Birkenhead and then the tunnel, I usually park in Dale Street under the flyover.

okay.. I think that side of the river isn`t too bad but I did hear that there was some flooding around Bidston. Would prob be best to check before you set off tomor. If this rain doesn`t stop I don`t think i`ll be able to get out of Crosby!!!
I don`t know about the flyover at Dale Street but the flyover from Seaforth into Crosby was closed and had about 3, maybe 4 foot of water at the foot of it. I could just see the roof of a submerged Ford Ka
