Your best bet is to go into a tattoo studio and speak to them there. Good studios will be more then happy to draw what ever you want if you take designs ideas to them.

Tattoo designs are not like ordinary drawings, there are a lot of designs that simply wont work on the skin; ie over complicated and detailed drawings tend to fade or not work on skin.

Hi guys still working on it :)

to answer some questions i have been to a few tattoo studios but most want to keep the design after and i would rather i didnt see everyone with the same design. i know there will always most likly be variations but i havent seen any as yet (maybe cos its crap idea but hey ho) if i like it. and i know some ideas wont work this is why design is still in first stages.

Thanks Tom.

ok first of this is only a rough idea final stages can be tweak or all welcome to "enhance or try ideas" but main wishes are as follows:

Placement: From lower shoulder to 2 inch from wrist in a wrapping motion(one way not both in same direction).

Basic shape: Rosary Beads leading to a cross simplistic in design

Wording: “Judge my values not my success“ this can be in strikeout style or follow on script using the wire if that makes sense

Shading: in my mind on the cross and wording but give it your own touch.

Colour: again im my mind less the better but can have touches of blue.

Anything else just ask.

please try be as unique as possible and as per normal all comments an criticism kept to a healthy banter please.

Thanks Tom.

(one way not both in same direction).

So does that mean you want 2 lines of beads rapping round your arm in the same direction or both going opposite directions and crossing over etc?

opposite directions and crossing over only once around the elbow area so not to seem too busy.

As Anna said - go to a decent tattoist they will design one for you if you take in a few pictures from the web or where ever etc and make up a drawing for you. If they want to keep the drawing then dont let them lol.

I went to one in Shipley and he designed mine for me. If you do get someone to draw something up for you, dont expect the dead same drawing to be your tattoo, it will probably have to be changed slightly to be put onto skin. But will be good to take so they have a good idea of what your wanting.

good luck anyway - and only go to a tattooist that has been recommended to you by someone who has had their tattoo for more than a year etc.

Tom I see you aren't too far away from Hx. You need to go to see a nice chap in Hx town centre at Paradise. They are situated above Thomas Cook.
The place to go to used to be Garghoyles in Elland, but Bob has a massive waiiting list. The guy at Paradise is on par with his work. Saw a nice couple at Yorkie CHris's house the other week, and they were covered top to toe in his work. Faces and freehand seem to be his speciality..in fact hes just too good not to go check him out.
Thing is a good tattooist will isten to what your individual idea is, and do a sketch you can both work from for the final piece. Its not all about copying.
I could do one, had a couple of people ask since putting up a sketch on here the other week, but thing is tattoo sketches aren't quite the same.

In deciding who to go with remember, a tattooist is an artist, and as such they will specialise in their own style.

Make sure their style is compatible to yours when you are looking, any tattoo artist is able to copy a design from flash on the wall, not many can take your idea and make it into what you want!
