This is something I have wondered about for a while. Personally I can't stand the stuff and would rather eat my own excrement.

What's not to love about it?

Taste, smell, appearance, texture, viscosity, colour and just about every other characteristic it possesses!

Love it - but I'm turning more to Vegemite recently.

The special edition they did for the Ashes was delicious though, made with yeast from Pedigree bitter. I got through a good few jars of that last summer.

Yuk, hate it myself but if it didn't exist i'd have nothing to put in Frans (daughter) sandwiches. She lives on it.

The best on toast in the morning....try it with mature cheese in a toasted sandwich! mmmmm

I lived in Fiji for 3 years and you can only get vegemite there, it's okay but I much prefer Marmite

You kidding me?
Marmite is just the scraped out skiddies of marketing people who figured out a way to sell it.
Vegimite is the scraped out skiddies of people who ate marmite (IE worse).

Who the heck eats that stuff, wrong, it's so so WRONG.

use it in cooking - try a spoonful in bolognase sauce, but dont eat the stuff on its own. Have not tried it in years though so it could have joined the ranks of foods I used to hate but now enjoy, along with olives and beetroot.

I think I've posted this before, but try it mixed with butter and brushed onto a nice piece of steak about a minute before you take the steak out of the pan. 8)

Marmite and crunchy peanut butter (back in the days when I used to eat Peanuts) was a real savoury treat. Add a few crushed chilli flakes too and a slice of extra mature cheddar and you have a sandwich fit for a ... er Flakes! :D

Toast some Bread , Thin veneer of Marmite , then a slice of Cheese , back under the grill for a moment then slap some Mayo on top of the Cheese , then chuck another slice of Toasted Bread on top ........... welcome to Badger`s Heart Attack Recipe . Second Toasted concoction is optional but 3 would be just greedy ....... Works really well with Red Leicester Cheese and Hovis Countrygrain Bread . Yummerz
