Anyone know how to get rid of wasps? It's a small hole in a stone wall infested by wasps outside my house. I don't know how many wasps are in it but there are always a few hovering in and out the hole.

It's a small hole so I was thinking of simply sealing the hole up but I don't know if this would be dangerous, as in would I get attacked by the wasps by the ones on the outside.

Never had to deal with a nest before.

Fyll leathers, lid, thick scarf, gloves boots, a lighter and a can of WD40, but dont let the RSPCA see ya or they will ask for the death scentence against you for Genocide against wasps as vermin have more rights than humans do!

If the other side of the wall is not someones property I'd just full leathers it and block the hole with something. Expanding foam, quick drying filler, etc

If its one of your houses external walls then you might want to get a pro to have a look as if you just block it up and they are nesting inside your walls you could end up with a house full of really ****ed off wasps.

Assuming that you know what is on the other side of the wall, and its ok, Burn the buggers.

More sensibly you can buy cans of wasp nest killer, not nearly as fun though.

It's on neighbours house wall, terrace row of houses. Were trying to figure out best method between us. Burnings out as may set fire to the whole row.

Will get a can of wasp killer then.

Thanks

Proper wasp killer stuff, or ant powder, that works too. Apply at sundown when they have all gone to bed.

Try your local council Environmental Health Department to see if they do a free pest removal service, some do and some dont.

Ask Yorkie Chris - he dealt with some in a hedge last year.

thats what i was going to say - normally the charges are cheaper than getting somebody in and they should guarantee the work

You need to kill the nest off.

When you say in a wall, what sort of wall, can access be got to the nest itself.

I have used nest killer which is a foam spray and bagged/removed the nest. they can be huge, simply blocking the hole will mean they find another exit

Haha LMAO!

Real men would also smother themselves in Jam!

Expanding foam or french bangers would be my weapon of choice (im not man enough for the whole naked jam milakee!)

Daft bugger next door thought it was a good idea to stuff some paper in the hole, and now we have gone from 2 to 3 hovering outside the nest to over a hundred now really annoyed and trying to get in.

Silly cow just tried to tackle it with an overcoat and head scarf.

I told her to get back inside and we have a bee keeper on his way to sort it out.

Bloody 80 year old's are a liberty!

I feel your pain. When knocking down my shed we saw some bees hanging around and thought we must have had a hive in the shed. When I started digging up the ground under the shed, dozens of bees flooded out of the area of my pick, yes, out of the soil (I didn't even know bees nested in the ground!) They still refused to move out though, so we poured a thin layer of cement over the top!

had one in my brothers garage last summer, covered the nest and surrounding area with spray adhesive then armed with a 3 metre length of 15mm copper pipe stuffed into the middle of the nest and emptied 3 cans of wasp killer into the nest, seemed to do the trick since the ones that got away from the nest got stuck anyway slung the nest in the bonfire then

I saw someone get rid of one with half a pound of thermite once. That was spectacular.

Don't treat a bee's nest the same, they are presently I belive protected due to the huge drop in bee's numbers over the last few years.
