View Full Version : Replacing clipons with bars on a 2010 Pointy?

Hi All,
It may or may not be needed but I was wondering what is the best means of switching a SV650 2010 to use riser bars rather than stock clip ons?
I'll be doing 230mile rides on the SV soon(ish) and so am half expecting that I will want a more relaxed riding position, time will tell I guess but in the meantime getting an idea of the options would be good.
Is it a simple case of getting say the gladius "fork bracket" (don't know the names of these parts yet) and bars and fitting them instead? Or should I consider those expensive height adjustable clip ons I've seen?
Thanks for any pointers

Thanks all, I'll check those links out, thanks
Why not just get a naked?
Because I want a fully faired bike and got a good deal on an ex-demo black 2010 pointy ;)
I may not want riser bars on it but I want to know all the options, only when I go on some big runs will I know for sure...

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it but not for a while. I have yet to pick up the bike and ride it as is for a while before I decide. I'll PM you if and when the time arises to check if you still have it! Thanks

The sv is perfectly comfortable most of the time, I drove to near Barcelona in Spain and back with a k3 and was fine most of the time, sore ass mostly but my seat is like a brick

I wont be jumping into any mods until I am sure I NEED them so that's reassuring to know, thanks

Is the yoke a straight swap for an S one? :)
I presume so as it was offered as such, but good question :)

yup i think so unless the extra bits for the naked clock mount interfere with the fairings but i dont think they would.

If no-one else wants it, I'll take it.
