I've had a look through alot of the threads already on here about fitting different shocks to the sv.....

My question is, if I fit a GSXR600/750 K6-9 Shock onto my K6 SV650S will it effect the ride height at all as the GSXR shock is listed as 10mm shorter than stock? Is it as simple as it will lower it by 10mm??

Thanks

I had a k7 750 shock on mine before, which i think is similar to the one your looking at, and the shock was 13mm shorter than stock and it made it quite a bit lower. I didnt like it due to it affecting the responsiveness of the bike, wasnt as flickable into corners as stock
I believe that if you install a shock thats 13mm shorter it lowers the bike more, i think it was around 30mm difference in ride height

yes it will drop the back of the bike 20mm (1:2 ratio) it will also make the bike handle pretty slow

So would I be better off with a shock that is actually longer than the 330mm stock (eg. the ZX10R shock)?

Might be a stupid question, but why does it double the measurement?

yeh the zx10r shock is good

not sure its to do with the linkage ratio
