View Full Version : Got a Faired Pointy in West Sussex?

I'm wondering if anyone with a fully faired pointy in West Sussex could do me a wee favour and general good deed. Ideally you will be near Burgess Hill in order to minimise inconvenience to yourself.

The story is that Quedos and myself are involved in setting up a blood bike service (like SERV) up here in Glasgow. As part of this, it is almost certain that I will be putting a livery on my bike. The leading manufacturer of these is located in Burgess Hill but they do not have the templates / dimensions for the SVs panels. They have asked if I could bring the bike in for measuring up but obviously this is not easy - especially since I'm currently in plaster...... If I'm going to do such a job on the bike, it has to be top notch and not just any old vinyl.

If someone near to them could be an angel and pop round with a bike for a wee while so that it could be measured up, this would be most appreciated.

Thank for reading & fingers crossed!

How soon are you needing it done. Im in south london but could make it as part of a weekend run. However the bike is currently off road but in the next month or early sep if you get really stuck i could do it for you?

Thanks Ben.

Our problem is going to be the usual "office hours" thing which is going to make things more difficult. I did a quick check on Suzuki to see if there was a dealer nearby that I could perhaps sweet talk into taking a bike down, but that doesn't look to be an option. Ideally, this would have to be quite soon but life is not often that simple. We'll just need to see if someone can manage.

Cheers,

Garry

Why don't you triple post and stick it in Idle Banter as well....might get a few extra eyes on it then IP :-)

We'd help, but neither of us have an SV!

Thanks for that. PM sent but I'm not overly hopeful due to the old "Office Hours" thing.

Dunno if you have this sorted but I'm happy to help. Work shifts so could do officer hours on certain days (morning or afternoon depending on the day).

I'm surrey but happy to take a run down to Sussex.

Thanks Tom. I've not had any luck to date so I'll get back on to the graphics people to see how long they would take to measure up the panels and I can get back to you by PM to sort something out.

Many thanks for your time etc,

Garry

Get a test ride on an SV then take it back for a bit?

James - I'm in Glasgow and the process will take about an hour or more. The nearest dealer is a wee bit away and most tests are only for about an hour. It looks fairly well sorted now though.

Cheers,

Garry

The deed is done. Only took an hour. Took a couple of pics while I was there.

My bike covered in sticky back plastic!

(dont worry, the guy did the tank just after this)

And a pointless Can-Am Spyder ambulance bike they had done

Ugly as sin, I think you will agree!

So there we go. Hopefully some yellow and green bits heading up to Glasgow soon.
