Ok i have been havin an issue where i have been startin the bike up, lettin it get to about 45 degrees'c then setting off after a mile on my journey i stop dropping to first n the engine cuts out then its a bugger to re start. When it does get goin again it doesnt happen again.

Also a few times i have been out on a long ride on fast A roads then pulled into a village dropped to first n the engine cuts out again.

This doesnt happen all the time but is anoying. Normall running temp is between 78-90 degrees i just wondere if i need to let it get right up to temp before setting off or if its the tickover speed or what? Any ideas guys n gals?

Could you be disturbing the sidestand / switch when changing down?
Im sure you know this but the bike will cut out if you are in gear and you put the sidestand down.

+1 for sidestand

or

battery as mine was doing that before it died.
with it being a FI only other thing could be fuel starvation (i think)
