Rear Brake Pedal - is this correct?

I think I've been sent the wrong part, again...this time by a breakers yard.

I bought a second hand rear brake pedal along with my front subframe, but the pedal didnt turn up.

After 2 weeks now its finally turned up. The guy at the breakers said he doesnt know what went wrong but he's sent me a brand new one to compensate!

It arrived today, all great - but I'm pretty sure its not the right shape at the end?

My bike is in a really awkward position at the moment but I think my original one has an extra bit below the biggest hole, where I think a screw goes?

Also cant see the bit sticking out perpendicular to the new lever on my old one.

This didnt come with any identification, no paperwork or anything. Only markings on the new lever is "176" which prob means naff all.

nope its a pattern part that has a folding leaver in case you drop the bike at which point it hopefully wont bend or break.

it looks to me to be for a pointy though, so yes its the wrong part for your bike if your signature is anything to go by.

the part will work. i've got the gear lever varient of that style actually prefer it

Yep, I have a curvy.

I just got the bike out (bored) to fiddle, and looking on the original brake lever, the side which faces the frame looks completely different - namely the part that the 2 spings hook onto for the return spring + brake light.

I just put the bike back etc and I cant be bothered to re-look....but if you're sure this will work, I might hold off sending it back and have a crack at this on the weekend.

Speaking of dropping, I came off at a roundabout this morning, and snapped my pedal, and brake lever, how annoying. A folder lever type, is exactly what I needed today.

Well, called the breakers this morn, and they confirm they had the right part there and being posted to me today. Something about mixing up with another box.
