Unlucky mate, hope you are ok.
They have had a surge on this type of road repair resurfacing lately everywhere, it really is crap for bikes.
It frightens the crap outta me tbh.
Dont mind it on my dirt bike though ;)

a case of taking legal action? I've thought about it a fair bit as all the round around where i live have been suicide gritted and its a thought that has come into my mind a few times if the unfortunate was to happen... get you costs back

Don't be like me and try to soldier through the pain, cuz pain normally means something's wrong. Go and get yourself checked over, just in case.

get well soon moo. Id see if you can get some form of compensation off the council. Dare say they got some wall to hide behind though. My whole area has just had all that stone chip down and i hate riding through it. Speedy recovery to you.

1) Go to A&E, make sure nothing's broken
2) Get someone with a video camera to record the approach to your off, and the chippings that you didn't spot in time.
3) Check the video for loose chippings signs. If there are no warning signs get some decent advice on whether it's worth chasing the council for compensation.
My money is on signs appearing the day after you contact the council, and the council blaming the contractors and trying to shuffle off any liability. But I'm an incurable cynic!
Hope you're back on the bike soon,
Keith.

It does indeed count as cow tipping as stated in the bible.

sorry to hear about your off! Bikes fixable
Get yourself down to hospital though just for a check up. I came off ma mountain bike a while ago and what a thought was just a bruised finger a soldiered on. Ignored folks comments of hospital. Anyway 4 weeks later, I finally went. Turns out it was fractured and started healing. The bone set wrong and now a can't fully straighten it.

Sorry about the off, GWS mate. I hate loose chippings and when they turn into small mounds of chippings that jump out on you grrr

Take care Moo. Kit look to have done it's job and picked up some scars. Surface looks heavenly compared with some of the dirt tracks (sorry, roads) round our way.
Like the folk say, get it checked out. I'm in plaster with a torn achilles and was ready to just keep hopping/limping until Quedos stepped up the pressure.
