Hi all. I bought myself an SV650 SK1 (fully faired curvy) a couple of weeks ago, and it had just had a lovely new paint job. So, I thought to myself that the first thing that I needed was some crash bungs or mushrooms. I had a look, but everything available seemed to be for the non-fully-faired version.
I should have come straight here to ask you guys and gals, but instead forgot about it, and unfortunately, made a school boy error and stalled it at the junction. Unfortunately, the bike was in a slight turn, and the jolt caused the bike to go down with me tumbling off. Now, the lovely paint job is riddled with scratches. I have had a very reasonable respray price, however, I do not want to spend the money, without getting a set of crash bungs to avoid the cost in future.
Please help. If anyone could provide me to a link for some bungs which do not require cutting of the fairing, would be much appreciated.

R&G do a set for the 2001 bike that include a bracket that extends under the lower fairing and means you don't have to drill them,. I fitted (and tested) them on my SV with no probs. Go to the R&G website and do a search.

I'm not so sure thats correct anymore. I'm sure I read a post saying that you could get them for faired bikes that didnt require the fairing to be cut.

I could be mistaken of course.

edit to the last one. The no cuts are for pointies only.
the oem lowers on a curvy require drilling at the engine mount
Hopefully the pic illustrates the mount point
