2000 & 2002 water pump differences

I need to replace my water pump on my 2000 Sv650 and currently have a 2002 water pump, there is one difference in that there is an extra little pipe at the bottom which there isn't on the original. Would it be okay to swap them over? It needs to be ready by Thursday morning :o

Update

turns out its a k3 pump (im pretty sure) and according to haynes, its just a dain plug incase one of the seal fails.

I'll guess i'll install it and see how it turns out!
