Probably been posted before, but this was a new one on me. Was down on family hols last week in Paignton.

Essentially one night per week through the summer the sea-front parking area is only open to bikes. There were stacks there on Thursday last week, from trikes to old Nortons to R1s. Seemed a really good and friendly atmosphere, and the £1 donation per person goes to charity. It seems to go down well with the tourists, a great way to show the regular public the friendly face of biking.

Seems like a bloody good idea. I would be there regularly if it was not 300 miles from where I live. Although they are holding a festival at the end April next year, tempted to make the ride down...

Any Yorkshire folk know of anything similar, or a good location and a council to start petitioning?

Really need to get my backside down there now I have a bike - I've worked in Paignton for the last 14 years and live in Plymouth and every Wednesday there is a constant stream of bikes blatting through the lanes on my homeward commute. Shame one of the forks has decided to emulate a BP oil well :(

I live in Paignton and have been to a few bike nights over the years, including all the festivals. I haven't been for a while as I play in a local band and Wednesday night is practice night. We are having August off so I will be going to the one on the 18th (weather permitting). I will take our youngest son pillion on my 98 curvy. Our eldest has just passed his test and will be proudly riding my old GS500 which we rebuilt. We have a friend who has just got her old Honda CB550 four back on the road after 20 years and will try to encouragae her along as well. If you see 2 or 3 of these parked together then that's us!
