With only a few days left until the AR I think it is time that Grunty, Stretchie and all the rest of the organisers are publicly thanked for all their hard work sorting out this years AR.

*round of applause* :smt003:smt003:smt003

I would also ask that everyone remembers that the markers for the rideout are doing it to ensure the smooth running of the event. Please don't abuse them or give them a hard time - the weekend is for them as well as you.

Ride safe all, and stay in front of me - I'll be the one at the very back.

Best Wishes to you all for a cracking weekend. See you on Friday.

Even though I'm not attending (this year) I tip my hat as anyone who gives up time & effort to organize something on this scale defo deserves at least a pint or two (no, not on commission).
So well done you lot (hat is tipping as i type), good luck to all attending, have fun & ride safe.

p.s. Looking forward to see some of the pics and no doubt epic stories.

Massive thanks to everyone who has organised this years AR, it's going to be absolutely epic..

just spoken to Cheryl, Drew, DMC and Spiderman in the last half an hour. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to attend the AR for a handful of reasons, number one being that I would be absolutely furious with myself if we missed leedsmatt's wedding service on sunday, and number 2 being that I've been run down with exhaustion for quite a few weeks. Drinking because everyone else is and sleeping in a tent will probably finish me off so I'm gonna take a weekend to have some proper me time with the missus with phones turned off, no internet and no one to answer to :)

Hope you all have a great weekend & sorry if I've let anyone down (preston, I'll buy you a beer on sunday night to make up for it buddy)

1. A massive massive thank you to Cheryl for picking up the organising of the site and the AR itself. The site was awesome, you did an awesome job with getting everything into place. Fantastic effort. You've set an unbelivably high standard for next year.

2. To Drew & Lily, MBK and Mr Squirrel Huner, I popped up to the admin office a couple of times, and you all had everything under control, everything organised and sorted out, awesome job.

3. To Stretchie, for picking up the rideout plan from a rough couple of PM's and a google map from Hovis and fine tuning and tweaking it, that was one of the best days riding I've had.

4. Marker team quality job, even the ones you sent the wrong way ;) you gathered back up on got them back on track again.

5. Thanks to Bellerophon for TEC duties.

6. To everybody else for coming, these things just dont work unless you guys turn up, you make the forum what it is and you guys make the AR a fantastic weekend with the atmosphere that you create. It was also great to see so many new faces there, lots of newbies and people I didnt know

/admin mode off

To everybody that moved over to make my job as a Marker that tiny little bit easier, it was really appreciated

To the few of you that stopped when there was no marker where there should have been one, again thank you very much.

and lastly thanks to Hovis for the intial idea and groundwork, because without him putting himself forward to run it, there'd have been no AR at all.

I never met Hovis properly - but he must have been chuckling up there somewhere to see the Soho Massive in a dodgy Welsh disco , (including Supervox in sunglasses) with some of us wearing sheep t-shirts while dancing to the Spice Girls, stripping, and snogging the locals. Was that part of his original plan when he said we had to go to Wales?

To add to my original post, I would like to thank the weather for staying relatively clear, and those who I managed to convince into going for a play on Sunday with. You gave me a chance to revisit some roads I haven't ridden in a long time, and bring back some good memories.

Thank you guys, just a quick reminder to everyone though, I can't take the credit, it was Hovis that came up with the route in the first place, all I did was sort the stops out with the help of some of the markers and plan the first leg of the rideout because he never liked that part of it, the rest was all him, and Cheryl was always sorting out the food and accomodation and did a cracking job too.

I also need to thank my fellow members of the marker team, and those who have been helping out behind the scenes. I also thank the local wildlife for not turning themselves into lamb-chops just yet.

Cheers guys, wub you (the markers, not the sheep [although I have LOVED the sheep ;) ])

I was right. It was a right shambles. No one knew what they were doing who was leadingt he rideout, where to stay, anywehre to eat or anything. Lucky Cheryl stepped in at the last minute and sorted out a flask of tea and and packet of Hobnobs. And that bendy bloke or whatever he was called for doing the ride out, and the local riding school with thier yellow bibs marking the corners.

Dunno on whose land we stayed, but there was some wierd stuff going on Saturday afternoon involving horses and spikey things.

So, yeah, can someone organise it a bit better next time, shhessshh
