I fitted some LED indicators the other day and all was well.
On my way to work tonight when the indicators were on, the flashing on the instument panel seemed a little dimmer than normal.
Now, the indicator light on the instument panel is staying on, albeit quite dim. When i use the indicators the instrument panel is at normal brightness.
If I switch the killswitch to off, the dim indicator light on the instrument panel goes off too.
If I just turn the electrics off with the key, the indicator light stays on for a second or two.
The LED indicators were fitted using the Suzuki cable adapters and I changed the relay for one for LED's.
They worked as they should when I fitted them so can anybody shed some light on my problem.

Good morning.

Re check the connections to the new indicators, & the new relay. A dodgy contact could give you the symptoms you describe.

Un plug the indicators one at a time, & see if the panel light goes out. This may give you a clue as to which item is the offending one. Also try re fitting the original relay, again if the light goes out. there's the culprit.

Cheers.

Well, got up this morning after my night shift ..;) and got the bike out of the bay and the problem seems to have sorted itself out. I think it must have been some damp somewhere after washing it.

One other thing though, when the indicators are on the dash lights do seem a little bit dimmer when they are flashing. Could this be due to the aftermarket relay?

I an going to fit the original relay later and see what effect that has, other than increasing the flash rate to silly speed.

Problems don't sort themselves out, they just hide away for a while and come back at an even more inconvenient time. I would go have another look at the wiring again. Loose connection?
