Looking to book up to head for Calvi in next coupla months for next July so info on what you did for ferry and accom would be much appreciated. And your fave roads of course......but they all look gnarly.

No you are thinking of Peter Henry AKA Pedrosa.

I'm sad to say I was in a Peugeot 3008 hire car, it was a family hiking holiday!

I have to say, although the roads are twisty and the scenery is stunning, the road conditions are pretty bad and the locals are terrible drivers, so I would take special care if riding there. Not a single local wears any gear, and the drivers drive on all sides of the road. And the top coastal road round Cap Corse is being redone and is just gravel.

Calvi and the top left of Corsica is incredible for mountains but the coastal roads are VERY narrow there. See the photos I have attached for an idea of what you'd face; no sweeping bends!

I have been all over Corsica, the best bet for riding roads would be inland over the mountain ranges of the northern central part. We stayed in Vizzavona this year and the roads around there are much better quality than the coast and plenty of bends going over all the Cols! Also Calvi is famous for the Corsican gangsters there, most locals and busy blowing each other's heads off due to ages old vendettas. I love Corsica though, if you want any more info, let me know.

Cheers for that. Good info.

I have read that the local drivers have a shocking reputation. Probably just like any other island dwellers!;)

Getting a few laps in on Google street view the noo!:smt110:)
