Hi guys,

I think I need my fuel pump replacing.

I have found one in Kidderminster for £45.

How easy/difficult are they to replace?

If it's pretty simple, would anybody be able to fit it for me? As it's not worth driving to Kidderminster if I can't get it fitted in time.

Thanks Aran

Have you got a Haynes Manual?

If not, get one. Even if you don't use it for this they're friggin useful.

I learnt six of the seven things i know from it. ;)

Are you sure it's not just a blocked fuel filter?

Isn't it part of a service then Rob? On the Duke, I have to change the filter every 6k.

I have looking into it doing this with some running issues with the SV but sorrted it by cleaning and balancing the carbs. I don't remember it being in the Haynes service for either the SV or the ZX. I many soon stand to be corrected mind you ;)

6K that pretty low I think, every day is a school day :)

Those are both carbed bikes, Rob. This is a fuel injection pump and they have a filter before the pump to prevent damage, I presume. Still might not be this anyway#-o

Did you learn the 'How to pass time alone with a good internet connection' section all by yourself?

Yep. Section 6.7 - 6.12 is all about finding great porn on the net.

Arran, make sure you check the connectors to the pump are fully home cos that could cause intermittent running.
I remember you had a new engine fittedf recently, did he have the tank off the bike to fit it?
