On the way home from work today my SV650s (which i recently converted to a new yoke and bar conversion), the engine kept the revs at about 3000rpm and the red light was lit, and FI was present to the left of the dash and flashing with the temp gauge.
i noticed when i got home the new (longer) throttle cables adjuster had come loose at the adjustment point at the throttle end of them and after tightening the nut by hand and turning the bike off and back on the FI and red light disappeared. Would the loose throttle cable cause this fault???
regards
Steve

No, adjusting the nut hasnt sorted the problem. What u have is an intermittent fuel injection fault that brings up the red light and although the fault goes the light stays lit until u turn off the ignition. To identify it u have to put the system in dealer mode (refer to threads on here) and when the problem returns read off the fault code BEFORE TURNING OFF THE IGNITION.glang

Good luck with this Steve because the worst case scenario requires a full replacement throttle body assembly. It does sound like the same symptoms that I had with mine. If you pull over and stop, wait and restart the engine, it clears right? Doesn't happen every run, but once it's on the only way to clear the fault is to switch off?
