Well I've got me sticky mits on a renthal 14 tooth front sprocket and was also going to put a standard side renthal sprocket on the back becuase I'm pedantic like that!!

I understand you are supposed to change chain and sprockets at the same time, but will I end up with big problems if I didnt?

Unfortunately the money isnt there for a new chain at the moment. Yorkie chris appears to have stolen it all off me in exchange for an orgasmic penske shock!

Cheers all,

Toby

Are you going to need to remove any links with the smaller sprocket?

Also, putting a smaller front sprocket would reduce the diameter the chain wraps round making the chain bend more, so could add to the wear of the exisiting chain as well.

i wouldnt do it, chains and sprockets "wear" into each other, i just wouldnt risk it, stick with the gearing youve got till you can afford to change the chain as well, its not like the gearing change is going to rock your world.

Yeah I'm aware of the chain wear issue. I'll hang fire untill a have a new chain then. Thanks
