And anyone else with a blingy carbon fibre addiction: Yay or nay?

As it stands:

How it could look:

Could also upset the enviromentals by putting some kind of 'CARBON NEUTRAL' design overlay maybe?

nope, not for me. Unless it was done with that high quality blue peter sticky back plastic faux carbon effect thing, then I'm sure it'd look great.

It's proper vehicle wrapping film like the stuff we print on and then wrap smart cars/sky vans with...

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_c5nU_S1VtbY/TFrYb7xfR5I/AAAAAAAADv8/8g7mWAA3B-k/Monza_Matt.jpg

But it looks tired as it is - one or two too many scuffs here and there.. Mechanically it's mint, so I feel like it should beam mintyness with its cosmetics :)

or do it Kawa green :smt044

And how many times will I be asked "If you wanted a ninja why didn't you just buy a ninja?" - which, by the way, will be about as funny as a car crash

Nah, the SRAD is a bit too fat n curvy for that sort of thing Paul. Saw a Duke done in the carbon wrap a few weeks back and it looked ok, but it was a lot slimmer than the SRAD.

you might as well cover it in insulation tape...

paint it blue and white and the wheels fluoro orange, always a winner

It's funny because I think a blue and white with fluoro wheels would suit my new t-shirt and cap - might even get a lambert and butler paint job on there while I'm at it

coolio - thanks for the feedback everyone. I've been guilty of whispering and pointing at tacky bikes pulling into squires in the past, and I'd hate to try and do something 'different' with my bike only for other people to then do the same :)

binky - got some akrapovic downpipes sat around doing nothing but I need to get an adapter flange type fitment to make my existing yoshi can fit (slip on vs. bolt on)... For the time being I'm just playing with ideas to tidy the bike up through winter... Might just bang a race fairing on and take the mirrors off like that knee down nobster from the last carlsberg recce

And it still looked f*cking gash.
NO!

Real carbon = good, bespoke ultra-lightweight racing parts, excellent.

Wrapping normal plastic in carbon = bad, making parts heavier, generally seen on bikes that look like they ram-raided a probolt catalogue. :smt078

no no no! that wrap looks ok on small parts but not the entire thing, all it needs is a stamp and it'll get posted :-P

I think that you should paint it pale blue and then air brush lots of little pink willies on to it! Should have the same effect as you are looking for with the Carbon wrap!

If you really want to go to town, paint a nice colour and then air brush some cool cartoon characters on to it. Tazmanian Devil or Wyle E Coyote would look fun while Bugs Bunny is an arrogant ***t, so don't bother with him!

Hope that helps!

PS, as suggested to another, Death Metal Album covers can get attention, the gorier the better!
