Last week I found a small screw (probably 3-4mm, looked like a computer screw if you know what one looks like) in my front tyre. Put my nail under it and pinged it out, obviously left a small hole but the tyre hasn't deflated. Must not have pierced the whole tyre.

I know it'd be best for me to get a new front but sod's law today a screw went though the rear and it had fully deflated when I got back to the bike from work. Need to buy a new rear but do I need a front as well? It's got a bit of life left in it but not too much.

Well I would be inclined to leave it as they are not very deep screws , as you have said that there isn`t that much meat on it anyway I would just get rid and fit a pair .... if this happened a week after a new tyre I wouldn`t sweat it . I had a rivet shank go through my front tyre and I had it plugged and used it til the end of its life .

As long as the tyre didn't deflate and the tyre is not torn around where the screw entered, then there's nothing to be concerned about.
If you have any doubts about the tyre then take the bike to a tyre specialist and ask their advice.

I'll have another look at it tomorrow as I've been using it for a few days.

Need to buy new rear so will get a pair if it looks iffy
