View Full Version : Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA100 HD camcorder
Saw this at Bluewater today and it looks good. Its waterproof and it works underwater.
With their online code its £280. Its only been out about a week and theres no customer reviews on it yet.
Does anyone have any info on it? Is it a good bit of kit for the cash?

I have had one for over 2 years
probably an earlier model (not HD)
can go in swimming pools
been left outdoors in pouring rain - to record some site work
has been in a bag hit by HGV on motorway (don't ask)
If it ever fails, I WILL get another
basic editing in camera
simple s/w to playback
each battery gives about 1 hr and 2GB card takes over 2 hours video
SMcG in Glasgow
Sounds good. I bought one online. When it gets here I will try and review it.
I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!!
This is a guy im subscribed to on YouTube, he and his fiancee put up daily vlogs and they were sent to Jamaica fr a week by Sanyo, SPECIFICALLY to test this underwater camera :)..... enjoy!!

Well it arrived on Tuesday I tried it out and now its going back!
Its seems a reasonable bit of kit but its not worth its full price of £350.
When using the "pistol" grip the buttons are too hard to use or press thus making the photo or video jerk.
If it was only £150 I would have kept it.
