I have recently acquired an X-Lite 801RR helmet in the Carl Fogarty design. This helmet has also been signed on both sides by CF himself.

The helmet looks like this.

7715

7716

Looking online the helmet itself costs over £350 and most places sell it for nearly £400.

It's a size large which is my size so the question I have is what to do with it?

Keep it and wear it or try and sell it?

what would you do?

Keep it and wear it. I don't buy into the whole celebrities signing stuff...I'm a practical man.

Keep it and don't wear it.

Might be worth a tad more after i've assassinated him.

I have tried the helmet on as I was thinking about just using it, but it is quite tight against my forehead and I think that would get too uncomfortable after a while.

would using lacquer not damage the helmet in case it hit the ground?

If it feels tight like that, I'd expect it to get sore and also suspect the shell to be the wrong shape for your bonce. If you want to make a few quid, sell it.

To protect the autograph(s), look at Ventureshield HPPS (Helmet Paint Protection System. I've used that to protect my Guy Martin signed lid.

Id keep it but not wear it, it may be worth a few quid in a few years time. People will pay silly money for signed things like that. For example I got a free print of Carl Fogarty with a Video that I bought directly from Duke, (it was a limited edition something like #489 of 1500) I sold it a couple of years ago for about £75 which isn't too bad for a freebie

sell it m8 and buy mrs A something nice. or take the family out for the day to somewhere nice that you normally would not do due to cost. it was a freebee so its like winning the cash on a scratch card.

Unless you're a massive Foggy fan and have always wanted a signed lid, sell it and get something useful.

going by the poll so far the majority are saying I would be better to sell it which if i'm honest i was thinking about doing anyway.
