Weeeell, she passed!! \\:D/ That happened last week..
It was her second try (got nervous on the first one and lost ballance on fig 8 , but she got through it without a single mistake the second time
In the meanwhile, I've been busy setting up a ride she can easily get along with after getting the licence.
Sooo, I got'er a zxr 400 (she's really short at 162cm). Not in a bad shape engine & frame wise, but had been ignored and in need of some serious TLC (fairings, sprockets, tyres and some general maintanence e.g. sincing carbs, cleaning fuel lines etc - fixed all except fairings.. they'll get broken anyway..)
Bike is fine now, so friday, sat and sunday we've been busy getting her to grips with the new bike, teaching basic stuff (look where you go etc) and all the things everyone needs to learn when starting riding from scratch.. That includes her first drop...
Sooo, how it happened : stray dog in the middle of the street. Just sitting there. We both see it, but I'm behind her and we don't have a comm (so I can't tell her to slow down early 'cause they're unpredictable). She slows down kinda late, because, obviously, the dog won't move when you want it to. Target fixates on it and when the dog finally moves, she follows it with the bike and comes down on the brakes hard. She stops very well, without locking the wheels, but forgets to put her feet down in time and the bike leans to the left... When she does get her feet down, it's too late and drops it..
Well, I gotta say it's better then my first drop (had 2 on my first day riding an SV).. She came out unscathed (just a few small bruises) but with the pride in tatters. Bike damage almost non-existent (other than some scratches on the left side fairing... we still don't have the crash bungs on :()
I guess I just wanted to let you all know another bike chick is on the road, with a bright future ahead, despite the drop (she did do very well apart from this small problem)
