I am wanting to buy an sv650s within the next six months and I would like some help/advice on what year to go for and what would be the best value, pros and cons etc.

My advice is do not post questions in for sale section ... and to buy the best one you can afford, personally I prefer curvy ones (99-02) but YMMV

The cheaper, the better I say.
Some people gel with the SV....others really, really don't. The more you spend on one, the greater the chance you might make a loss on it.
It just so happens I have a cheap, yellow, low mileage, standard '2000' SV650S for sale...for £1300. It's in Biketrader for £1500 at the moment!! London based.

I made the mistake of not looking at this forum before buying mine, and thus ended up paying about £400 over the top for it.(£1600 for a low mileage 99 650s) but tbh it was a small price to pay for such an awesome little bike.
