A) breakers yards are good but have caught on to the high demand so are taking the price up, try gsxr forums

B) you can use it if you make a mount that attaches one end to the frame

Do you need a steering damper?

The later the forks the higher the price. Why not go for an earlier model?

After k7/8 forks because......
A) it's a k9 bike so don't want much older forks !!
B) when I checked spring rates thier were almost perfect match 4 my wieght !!
C)silly but I like the black fork caliper look

Indeed :smt120

Anyway 06/07 had 1kg/mm springs which are stiff for the SV. Not sure whether they made change for 08 model.

(according to racetech, the 600 remained the same at .90 for 06-09)

the 1kg/mm spring feel fine in my front end but im 16 and a half stone without kit so make sure they are the right weight for you

race tech calculator for my weight 110kg with stock bike weight = Recommended Fork Spring Rate for Street: 0.984 kg/mm (use closest available)

Also the more u reduce bike weight the stiffer the springs they recomend, as i have reduuced bike wieght slightly (aftermarket can, rearsets, tailtidy) & im sure the gsxr wheel/forks are lighter than stock sv.

so the 1kg/mm should b about as good as it gets (i hope)??:smt120

please advise if my thoughts are incorrect as i respect the knowledge & help u all give!!

many thanx again :smt120:confused::D

I can't see how reducing the bike weight would increase the required spring rate, but yea seems close to correct for that weight.

I don't understand it but if u play on the race tech calculater that's the trend ?

The K7 750 forks do work, but you'll need to do some adaption to the ignition switch so that it will fit to the yoke and give the forks their full movement. You'll also lose the steering lock.

My steering lock worked fine - just locked on-centre rather than to one side or the other. Ingition mounting fix was about 30 seconds worth of work with a dremel. Otherwise the K7 750 forks were brilliant -at least for a big fella like me.

doesn't locking on centre kind of defeat half the point of a steering lock?

Better than defeating whole point and not having one :)
