Rich, can do, as I'm pretty certain I'll make it now. MIL is having the kids Saturday night.

Suggest Tesco's just off the A14 by the sugarbeet factory? I'll look up the junction number if you need it.

Not sure what time at the mo, I'll work it out.

Well if Seggons doesn't attend, then I'll lead, although Gary will be telling me where to go.

I'd seen a fatal flaw in the route, in that it didn't end at Southwold, so we would have gone hungry :D

Are we going to the pier, harbour or town in southwold? Just need to know this incase I get a bit excited on roads I sort of know and don't end up on my own :)
The harbour is really ****ty surface, but there's a really good chip shop bit down there. Saying that though there's a nice one near the king's head on the main road as you go in too.
Also there is one on the pier.
I think I'm going into a bit too much detail.

Seggons? Dont know if hes coming.....

The earliest I'll know if I'm able to make it or not is Friday when the work for next week is handed out.
The reason for the map ending there is Google only lets you use a max of 25 points. :)

I know that junction, that's where the main road from here joins the A14. That's a good call. Reeder and I will be leaving Beccles by 7.30 ish and it takes about 45 mins to get to that Tesco. Do those timings sound right to you?

Reeder
14-09-10, 11:27 PM
Normally takes an hour or so by car from Lowestoft so 45 minutes from beccles on bikes will be easy. Give us time to pop to the loo there too!

Are you using the A14 all the way in?

From my location its the only option to get to Perry on time, and there aren't any real alternatives. so yes

kellyjo
15-09-10, 08:40 AM
And we get to do the A14 all the way back! At least you get the boring bit out of the way first, we get to sit at 70 and die of boredom for a million miles when we just want to crack on and get home :-(

I havent ridden for 3 weeks and this will be my last ride on this bike. Its going up for sale when I get home, boohoo :smt088

Rich, a bit early. If I leave my place it takes about 1hr 45min to get to Perry, although I think it was quicker than that the last time.

So I leave mine at 8ish, 50mins to Bury so there about 8.50 and then an hour to Perry, so we're there just before 10.

So if you left your place at about 8, to get to Bury for 8.45ish, that would be ok

BigBaddad
15-09-10, 09:36 AM
If the weathers OK...I might hook up with you guys at Cambridge A10/A14 junction. Average speed cameras on the A14 if I remember.

Might be happy to tec for a bit on the ride.....my bike's pretty easy to spot.

deltron
15-09-10, 06:26 PM
I'll probably be one of the first to arrive as Perry is about half an hour from me. I'll bring my camera (if I remember) so be ready to make some obscene gestures as you come into the car park :-P

Great.
We'll be leaving Beccles at 8 then and catch you in Bury Tesco before 9. Fuel and pee and head off to Perry. A14 all the way. Boring but gets us there in time.
If I remember correctly the speed cameras are front facing ones ;) but the traffic has always been slower there as all the cars stay well under 70.

Eh? How are you going to know if its **** weather in Perry, if you're not there?

Sunday's forecast is for warm SW winds, so stop being a bunch of ghey's ;)

Those of you who rode the March event will think this is a walk in the park

I have no waterproofs :P and no money to buy some at the moment!
Maybe I could borrow a tenner and get some rubbish ones from the army and navy shop ;)

Waterproofs are for ghey's ;)

No, but seriously, having got soaked through at work yesterday, I don't enjoy being wet & cold (unlike a dogs nose)

I didn't have any good waterproof's for this years rideout in Wales. So I bought a one piece waterproof suit. I cost less than £30, but got top marks in Ride magazines test. Goes over the top of my leathers.

I don't go out in the rain, but this suit will do in an emergency, if I get caught out in the rain.

Better to be warm and dry, than wet and miserable.:p

I'll find out which one

I might pop along to the start point just for a ride out and meet a few people.

I'll save the longer rides until I have some experience/miles under my belt. Otherwise I'll only get left behind lol

It looks like i'm a major doubt for this rideout, have been told that I have to work on Sunday, but fingers crossed, there's a very small chance they might not need me. (lets pray )....Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give me this Sunday OOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!! my daily bread......

I have a pair. I'm just concerned about them disappearing when I get rained on and I end up soaked to **** lol. The wet roads isn't my problem this time :P

Oi Boooooooosh, wanna meet me a Cambridge.

I'm in south Cambridge and usually take the m11 to juntion 13, short run along the 1303 onto the 428 into St Neots.

If you wanna meet around any of them that's good for me.

Although i do like to arrive early so i can have at least 2 cups of tea.

Right you lot.

Gary has remembered the route KJ suggested, I've changed a little bit at the end, because there was a pig of a junction which we didn't need.

So see you in Perry at about 10 for a prompt 10.30 lift off.

Expected flight time to Southworld 3hrs 13mins, but we'll stop for fuel, tea & a pee somewhere
