I've just given her some serious love. 4days of love. Valve clearances, rebuild forks (seals, etc) the whole lot.
When she runs there is a terrible smell. Im pretty sure it vaporised petrol. Sniffing around whilst running it is strongest around the fuel pump area, above rear cylinder, not air box or throttle bods or front cylinder.
Whilst running putting ear next to exhaust for front cylinder sounds normal but ear near rear exhaust sounds like saying the word "T" in repetition very fast, a sort of compression but not bang sound.
Whilst running, disconnecting the rear coil makes no real difference. Disconnecting the front coil and she limps.
She will only just about start with the front coil disconnected and throttle open a bit.
She starts happily with rear disconnected but stalls easily.
I suspect problem is with rear cylinder.
I took the rocker body off to do valve clearances but took care replacing. Could it be i've pinched the rocker gasket?
I've taken the plugs out, connected to coils, rested against frame, hit starter and both have spark.
The rear coil lead is loose from the cap. Is this the problem?
Im pretty sure I made a mistake removing it and somehow broke the lead from the cap. How does the coil lead connect to its cap? Is it possible to re-attach or should I buy a new unit (Coil + Cap).
