PM'd back.
I'd just like to say people - you might find yet cheaper SV's but they're practically guaranteed to be a) in worse condition, b) not have as comprehensive history as this one and c) be higher mileage. High mileage is one thing I avoid on Sv's.... :)

Hi mate, I'm going to be putting a similar bike up for sale, just wondering how much it went for? Did you get full asking price?

£1300, could have got £1450 for it though.
Don't bother advertising on here in that region, don't waste your time - just put it on Biketrader. As soon as I did that, it sold straight away.

Any service history, photos?

That's the only issue I have with it, no service history. The guy I bought it from was mechanically minded and he did all the work himself. i've done regular oil changes, re-torqued bolts/nuts etc, and all other issues.
I'll post a pic in a bit.

They're few and very far between.

i would disagree. mine has 54000 miles on it and runs realy well. the engines in these bikes are great, as long as they get their oil changes they'll go on well past 100k!

You might disagree but show me plentiful examples on eBay with more than 50k on their clocks. There are none! When you can pick up a 10k example for £1100, and a 30k example for £900, it's a no brainer which to go for for me. I like my bikes to last. :p

Because not many owners do that sort of mileage.
Or, the sort who do, are happy to break their bikes when they've outlived their natural lives.
IF looked after they will do a lot of miles.
Given choice of 10k or 30k. I would buy the one in the best condition. I have seen some truly horrible dogs with low mileage, and some mint ones that have near been round the clock.

Which is usually about 40k!
It's not worth debating over. I know I have seen sweet f.a 50k+ bikes and have seen a lot dead at below 40k. They are sh*t bikes, electrically and mechanically. But I love them all the same, after all - I've had 6. :p

Balls! They're fine mechanically, if given a bit of TLC.
What wears out? Engines, nah, depending on use. Frames? Nah. Bearings... yes, but they're cheap.
electrics corrode, aye.
Mine is somewhere around 75k and still fine to rag the nuts out of. It's not had that easy a life either, but it gets serviced almost according to the book. (valves checked more often, due to hot cams... though they don't need it)
TBH I'd do the same again as to buy newer bikes would mean you'd just have to do all the crap that on your own bike would already be done... if you know what I mean... more often.
