Anyone got a cheap low milage pointy shock spare?

I'm happy enough with the original rear shock, but at 32k think it may be better to swap with a lower milage one. I take it all pointy ones are interchangeable?

You could always get your shock serviced

On the basis there must be a number of shocks knocking about due to upgrades, I imagine the cost of servicing a standard shock will greatly exceed the cost of buying a reasonable second hand one?

I don't think the standard shock is serviceable. Gixer shocks are cheap enough and are fairly easy to fit, so why replace the standard rubbish with the same.

Cos I'm lazy and don't want to cut the battery box etc, source special parts etc.. I also don't want to then have to change the front end or spend more money on the bike than necessary to keep it safe and reliable.

I'm similar Aidan, it could be that a second hand aftermarket shock is what you (and I) are after. I would fit a GSXR/ZXR shock if I could do it in front of my house (like fork springs) without sourcing any other special parts. Time to do some research...

Well if you find one that doesn't require cutting etc of a K3, then let me know!

Fitted a ZX10R 06-07 shock to my K3 only two weeks ago.

The K3 is a bit different and this shock goes right in with no messing or cutting. The tail unit on the k3 is different and does not need to be modified for this shock.

So if the spring rate suits, its the much better option for the K3.
