Brakes binding

I have just completed my gsxr 750 k9 front end conversion. The front pads have been replaced, R1 2009 master cylinder, new brake fluid. The brakes are binding on both sides (still after a 140 mile run). I did not replace the piston seals since the capipers are so new. What could cause this?

Sticky things are caused by things being stuck - even though the calipers are near new a quick check that everything is moving smoothly is an obvious first thing to look at. You now have four pistons in each caliper yes? That's eight possible sticky points.
Seeing as you now have a bunch of bits that might be from different bikes bolted to your SV it's worth checking that they're all what you think they are, and compatible.
Also check the relief port in the top of the master cylinder - if that's blocked the brakes will bind as the fluid will not easily flow back to the reservoir when the brake is released. A pattern brake lever can sometimes do this too, as the lever doesn't travel fully to the released point meaning the piston obscures the relief port.

I have checked everything last night and the calipers as as clean as new but i have just read your reply - will check the master cylinder relief port.

I have bought DP sintered pads which came without shims so i fitted the shims of the old pads could that be the problem? The DP bads have a ceramic coating at the back.

No need for shims with DP pads. I used them on the 600 and they were great. The ceramic backing prevents heat transfer so take the shims out and re-check.
