Just need a bit of advice please chaps, I have an SV 02 s, about 12k on the clock which has been standing in my barn about a year,(or maybe two)!! it was running perfectely well until one day I rode to my local town Angouleme in France, and it started to missfire a little and not pickup properly, first I put it down to some dodgy fuel, then thought maybe it was the cdi, since then it has been turned over now and again and has been connected to a trickle charger.
Now then, given that I live in the middle of nowhere without a bike trailor to take it to the nearest garage (30k) do I A: take off the carbs and clean them (never done anything like this before) B: try and find a trailor and or friendly expat bike mechanic, or C: re-insure it then strangely missplace it!
Ultimately I need to sell it as I am moving back to the UK and I don't really want to stick it on the van.
ps; TWO YEARS!!! I hear you say?? Well this IS France after all.....

Removing and cleaning carbs is not as difficult as you might think - you can download a manual online or try to get a Haynes manual - failing that does none of your neighbours/farmers (if there are any) have a transit van or something similar?

Thanks Martin, I think I'll download a manual and have a go, I'm a bit against going to the garage as they are really expensive here and I don't want to be in a position where they take it apart then say its gonna cost loads! Which from past experience here they will... :)

how times have changed - not so long ago many of the little country villages etc always had a mechanical wizard - you know anything with an engine , no problem. Good luck - if in doubt mark all pieces to aid replacement - photos on your phone? - might be better to do one carb at a time.

well, funnily enough my nearest neighbour was a diesel mechanic and wont even touch it!!
the most annoying thing is I've just remembered I bought a manual on cd rom a couple o years back but I think its been packed away!! Agggghhhh!!
