Question is, is the card reader on your pc SD or SDHC?

What Dave said.
My old computer couldn't read the SDHC card I use, a suitable and cheap - eight quid as I recall, but they're cheaper now - USB plug in thingy could.
Look at this page (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=usb+sdhc&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=5971364673&ref=pd_sl_1sjuflonh2_e), the one I have is not there but that's the sort of wossname you will require.

If your 1,4 and 8 gigs are formatted in SD format Fat-16? then it'll show them - if it's formatted in fat32 then it may not. (read: something to do with the formats; SD and SDHC use different formatting)...that said your card could just be ballsed.
Is there anything on the card you need? If your pc gives you the option to reformat it might be worth a pop.
It's a little hazy so might be worth a google.

Fair enough, it's been pointed out to me on a number of occasions that I ought to STFU when there's any computer questions as I haven't a clue.
Back to bike talk for me :D.

i would never tell you to STFU ian, the idea was always helpful, somebody may ask the same question :smt120:p:cool:

Taking the SD / SDHC debate a bit further, could the card be one of the new SDXC jobbies? That might explain it again.

no, they say sdhc class 6 if that helps
have you got a USB cable for your camera?
if so, use your camera as the card reader.
What OS are you using Windows XP, Vista or Win 7?
