My wife and step mother do.

You live with your stepmother?

Doesn't need ironing if you (or the servants) tumble-dry it

i only iron clothes for work (only work 3 days a month). my mum irons everything including boxer shorts. It is lovely getting into a freshly made bed with ironed sheets though

No but I stayed over at her palace whilst my dad was dying, crisp freshly ironed sheets. Nice.

Why would you iron bedding?

Lozzo

Waste of time ironing anything except smart t-shirts so I generally buy clothes that won't need it. I have trousers dry cleaned because I cba to iron them and I'm even considering having my smart work shirts cleaned by them as well, so they come back ready ironed.

I don't even iron clothes unless I truly have to. Carol Irons her work uniform after every wash. I just cannot see the point in ironing something that we are going to sleep on with both cats and probably spill tea on too!

I bought the wife a new iron yesterday. I ask you, her old one was only 6 months old and she has worn it out already.

Not a chance - my mother does iron hers though - in fact if its a cloth item she will iron it, tea towels, pants, socks, bed linen, face cloths - whatever!

Judging by the replies so far it is a services and age related yes and a younger generation no.
Apart from underpants, socks and towels we have everything ironed.
I can understand this to a point because if you are in full time employment,or both are, time is an issue, where as neither my wife or myself work.

Constructive folding is what happens in this house. Everything is uniformly folded, then sits in a mountain of clean washing, so much weight it flattens itself!

The only thing that I iron, is Pegs shirts, not good to have a squashed suit is there....and its with much reluctance too. He gets the iron out and does a man thing, holding shirt in funny fashion, put in heap on the board, so I have to rip the iron off him and show him what to do:smt120

You wouldn't be in that state if it was only the iron you ripped off him:)

Haha, I'm with Dizzy on this. I iron Dans work shirts, but anything else I do when I need it. As for bed linen, strangely (if you go by Dicky Tickers logic), I used to iron my bed linen all the time, but then again, I used to be a clean freak and have my houses looking like show homes 24/7...even with having two dogs.

Then Dan moved in, we got two more dogs and with age I have developed the mentality of, I am not spending all my time cleaning and tidying and if visitors don't like it, they can go make coffee at theirs...lol. So in conclusion, no...I don't...lol x

You didn't read my reply then. I don't iron anything because I did a lifetime's when I was in the mob, I don't want to be wasting my time doing it now. You may call it rebellion, I call it saving energy.

However, when I have to dress smart I am extremely smart - polished shoes, collar has to be done up at the neck and I never loosen my tie and undo the top button or roll my sleeves up, that's just wrong.

Nah, no point. I can maybe see why some folks like their linen ironed but as for fitted sheets, DEFINITELY no point. what a waste of time!

I have to say that yes I do, I find that ironed sheets on the bed in these temps keep the bed a bit cooler (it could just be in my head though!!)

Honestly I don't unless I'm forced to do something that may get the cuffs dirty, then they are rolled back down. I wore uniform shirts with rolled sleeves but it feels wrong in a dress shirt or even just a work shirt. I have short sleeve shirts for summer

LOL yer in a sunny place:p

I prefer to have that fresh off the washing line sheets. I have a billion and one sets of covers and sheets, but can't resist pulling the ones just washed off the line at dusk, when theres a slight fall in temperature outside....putting them on the bed and laying in chilled sheets:cool:
