Does it serve any real purpose other than looks?
I have read many a "reason" but most of it sounds like BS.

Not true, I have first hand experience that when the sock is applied to brake master cyclinders that there is a instant doubling in BHP from the engine!! Magic they are...well recommended.

They are used to stop the brake fluid from spreading on the track of the bike goes down and it breaks. On the road they do nothing.

Wonder how long they stay on your bike if you leave it on when parked up :D
I think Superbike are doing one for free in the October editon

Ahh you forget that this only works if you have changed the powerband...

apparently sun can degrade brake fluid, but i have one just because i dont like the big white rez

the degrading of brake fluid is a urban myth to an extent as the factories wouldn't put them their if that happened

mines been parked up out side shops and the like all week and its still on there although mine's all sweaty so who ever robs it might want to wash it ;)

listen your all worng. it keeps the brake fluid from getting cold so your brakes are "pre warmed up" for instant super braking :)
