We don't help ourselves do we?

Pair of plonkers. I know that road really, really well, and to do that in one of those cars takes some seriously untallented driving!

Nah, you watch COP POLICE or whatever on Bravo and you'll often see the cop maknig a witty quip at whatever shed he has to drive to the lot after they've arrested someone.

Perhaps the guy was pulled on suspicion of drink as he couldn't keep the control of it either?

Ain't caught vehicles supposed to be towed?

Well the cops drove my car onto a pub car park to put it somewhere safe when they wanted me to go back to the station with them to give a blood sample.

Yes I was under, I knew I was, they wouldn't listen. the blood test simply confirmed what I was telling them and they wrote me a letter to tell me they would be taking no further action against me. Cheeky feckers. The letter should have said you had not committed any offence at the time one of our officers decided to detain you and we apologise for the inconvenienced caused. As if they ever would though.

For drink drivers we normally recover the vehicles ourselves but bloody hell, you drive like a granny so that this kinda thing doesn't happen! What a pair of numpty's!

From my experience, GMP do not recover cars just because someone has been arrested in circumstances like this, ie, drink drive.

It may be moved if the driver stopped in a dangerous position, but only a short distance and the GMP insurance covers that. Hale Road is a wide, safe road with a 30mph limit for all of it. Having seen the pics of the crash scene, I know what the Cops did wrong, and they could have stopped in any one of three car-parks just before the crash.

From reading the story in The Manchester Evening News (http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1316015_police_could_face_charges_over_sports_car_ crash), they were waiting for a tow truck. This suggests to me that the car was being seized for some reason, maybe a Sec 165 for no insurance or licence.

A bit like Heather Mills, they haven't got a leg to stand on.

Oh, and Tim, if I let everyone go who tells me they haven't had a drink or a definitely not over the limit, no-one would get arrested.

Human with responsibilities.

Which they discharged without due care.

I dunno I do think whatever punishment dished out should be eased a bit, they've already done some community service giving us all a good laugh.

Nah, that doesn't cut it I'm afraid! If I did that I could pretty much guarentee the outcome if I did that and I wouldn't have a job left...

We are not supposed to.....supposed to...

Incidents like these are not good....

Anyway...the trick is don't do stupid things....

Or dont get caught doing stupid things.

Might be getting the wrong end of this particular stick, but to me the statement:

"We will not be taking any further action" insinuates that they could take further action if they wanted, but are letting you off this time.

Surely a letter saying "you were under the limit and have therefore not broken the law" would be better?
