Builder has been there 10 days and look at the poor house!

This is a view of the front. There is no front door (was just beyond the garage), and there is a gaping hole where the front window used to be. This is going to become the new front door:

Quick peek in the garage. Anne bought this Rayburn on ebay:

There used to be a side porch that backed onto a downstairs loo, and the front porch was beyond that. You can now see all the way through. This is going to be the new utility room. The old one has disappeared:

This here's a view from the kitchen (as was) through to the sitting room. There will be simply an opening between the two, as per pic. Note there is no kitchen ceiling. The wall was where Tony is stood, and everything is supported by pit props, a RSJ should have gone in there today. The old hallway is far too big, and we can move the kitchen wall about 2m to make a much bigger and more usable kitchen area:

Here are the gypsy cranes ready to crank the RSJ into position:

Told you there's no ceiling:

Scaffold going up at the back so the joiner can take the roof off - should have happened today - to build a new dormer for a new bedroom in the loft:

What the hell have we done:

I won'y show this to my wife, as she wants a bungalow. Although having seen the layout, I wouldn't mind something like this, as my garage is at the end of the garden.:smt013

It'll look nice when its finished Ed :p

It's odd... but I really really like your garage.

Don't forget to get a Tv ariel socket in there as well.

Tarmac? No that's for other mugs:p

The steel is now in, what a beast. In fact there are two pieces. And the ceiling beams have gone now, and half the roof:lol: They can't knock any more down, there' ll be nothing left:smt120 Some new timber has gone in... but nowhere near inhabitable. We will be living in the caravan from this weekend till about the end of October/early November:smt120

Leave the Rayburn there & you won't be hungry either.

Forgot to order the skip?

I bet his builders are paying for a grab load instead of a skip, it's cheaper but a lot of customers, especially if living in the house while works going on, don't like a huge pile of crap on their drive :(

In some circumstances, it's also double handling.
