xXBADGERXx

I had a go on a ZRX1200 and all I remember was how fierce the engine braking was for an inline 4 , once I picked myself up off the floor (where I had spent a good 30 seconds clutching my plums) I handed the bike back with watering eyes and my mate said "Oh yeah , watch out when you close the throttle"

Suskie

Wow.. To be honest, for the first few days on me SV, I was going round corners like a 50p piece...lol I'm having to learn clutch-slip and throttle blipping.. NOT easy at 46 years old! I got terrific back-ache between me shoulders for the first 5 days.. Love the V-twin bark at 6,000 revs though, on standard pipes too!

I do scare me 17 yr old daughter on pillion though, this things so much more 'chuckable' than me Kwak was...

Mine's only a 650 and I'm very cautious giving it some beans out of corners. I'd cry on a thou

Cymraeg_Atodeg
10-09-10, 11:06 PM
Dude, get some balls!

You got to open the throttle about 1/3 of the way through the corner in the dry (1/2 way through in the wet) and when the road straightens just get it to the throttle stop and hang on!

Reeder
10-09-10, 11:07 PM

Not the best advice to be honest , ride to the conditions and within your ability . And pay attention when there are crossings and junctions or you are a SMIDSY waiting to happen .

Reeder
10-09-10, 11:11 PM
Niceee. 2 offs in less than two years!
I've scared myself a couple of times with what FELT like my rear slipping a bit on some corners, but I think it was just be being a pussy and leaning in too quickly :)

Suskie
10-09-10, 11:12 PM
Me old Kwak 1200 was a fair bit easier to ride.. big, stable, smooth thing, hydraulic clutch, sit up and beg riding position... The SV 650 is fast enough, a lot nimbler, and is more involving... More difficult too! Very easy to lock-up the rear wheel in the wet, bit more of a crouched position, cable clutch..lol

I dunno what the thou'd be like... yeah, the same, but more?

Cymraeg_Atodeg
