Dunno where Crossgates is, but it sounds like the plan is to go out towards Shrewsbury.

Don't worry about MSB if you want to go to this mate. Unfortunately I won't get out for that length of time on Sunday, if not coming to MSB to see you, I'll go out on the XT and explore my local green lanes for an hour or two, but I can't get out for half a day and it's two hours just getting to brum and back.

I'm in the same boat mate. It's only cos the kids are going to a party I can get out. I reckon about 3 hours max

If you guys wanted to come over this way and still do a decent length rideout, I'd highly recommend this route

EDIT: or just do half of it, up to Grantham and back.

Looks great but sadly I'm not gonna be able to get that far out

I'll meet Col at MSB at 11am. There's a DRZ400 on road tyres I fancy giving a go, or maybe the old oil-cooled gixxer I used to lust over as a yoof

It you fancy it give us a shout

Dont worry about getting lost mate, we never lose anyone, not unless we want to lol.
If we lose you or anyone we always wait at any turns, if you dont see anyone at an island or whatever, keep going straight.

Only ride to your pace that you feel comfortable with, im a slow old duffer so you wont be slower than me.
Also dont assume if one overtakes it is safe for you as well.

Sorry if im telling you how to suck eggs but peeps told me same advice and it helped.

We wont go more than about 80 miles without a stop mate, id top up at hopwood if i were you, was planning to stop then at newtown which is about 80 mile or so, then crossgates top up, more than enough to get back then.

Dont forget you'll easy get another 30 miles when your light comes on, possibly 50 if you rode reasonable.

Not sure how to work this bloody thing, but since i have just been informed the 'outlaws' are coming for dinner next Sunday, thought I might disappear for a few hours on this route! (always assuming no rain). (19th Sept.)

seems to work. Sure it ain't the right way to do it, but hopefully you get the idea.
Anyone around??
Should be a good blast of around 90-100 miles, chippy in Morton is good for a food stop & there is Tesco, Co-Op & Budgens for anyone who is worried about fried potato product consumption & wastelines.
See what ya thinks, timing would be 10.00 or 11.00 start, not fussed as long as I am off before they arrive.

seems to work.

No worries, if there is enough interest, will post up detail of start, finish etc.etc in the middle of the week.
If everything goes to plan, should be a blast!
