...mod 2 tomorrow!

Hopefully it will all be ok! Examiner seems good/fair and reasonable from when I did my mod 1 last week.

Seems to be a lot of contradiction on lifesavers and when and where to do them, specifically on moving off and entering speed different speed limits. I have never been told to do them, just check mirrors as you arent changing your left/right road position.

Other than that seems strightforward enough.

Let just hope prevailing weather and traffic conditions are good :p

I only did life savers when I did my mod two 6 weeks ago when pulling away, turning right into a road, before going into filter section in middle of road or switching lanes I think.
Never ever was I once told to do it when changing speed - only to check my mirrors.

Good luck.....what time is your test fella. I'll pop by a buzz the examiner.

With luck we'll be seeing you at the EAR end of summer run on Sunday. 350mile round trip from King's Lynn, should settle you in.

Thanks guys :)

I dont know what time it is to be honest! I am starting my training at 10am, so its some time after that!

I'll go with doing some more lifesavers on my training tomorrow morning and see if the instructor says anything. If not, then I will continue that way on my test.

Good luck. And watch for the examiner taking you past any cross roads with no marked right of way (like in quiet residential areas) - slow down and cross check. All will be fine.

Hahaha. My instructors used to always say "Ello mum!" if I accidentally hooted the horn. Made me laugh.

Thanks :)

Weathers looking ok, other than being damned windy.

Feeling a little more nervous this morning - hopefully that will go when I get back on the bike again.

Fingers crossed!

all the best for today, Im sure you will be fine. grip the tank with your knees and relax your arms, really helps in the windy conditions

+1 to KitKat. A few of us that passed earlier this year had to do it in bad weather and if it's windy, do extra obs and take extra care when passing high sided vehicles or going from a sheltered bit of road to an open bit of road etc.

You'll do fine. Take a big deep breath and enjoy it. :-)

Good luck...again :-)

prolly a bit late for it david but if you start to get nervous, take a deep breath & enjoy the feeling of riding along on the bike - my examiner remarked "you looked like you were really enjoying that" when I passed mine 3 years ago :)

As for lifesavers, there are certain points in your riding where you have to do them (changing lanes, before indicating or moving road position etc.) any others are just accessory lifesavers and demonstrate to the examiner that you're making full observations regardless of whether you really need to or not - they can't mark you down for being extra observant (unless of course you're doing a lifesaver whilst gunning it towards a parked car) so if you feel comfortable doing one then go for it

That's why I said extra obs...lol.

Did he say what time he was doing it. Weather is going off a bit here and fuddy hell it's windy.

Passed! 2 minors, one for hesitation (said I should have opened it up down a slip road rather than wait) and one for moving away (said I should have indicated on one occasion).

Now sorting out picking up the SV this afternoon! :D

One very chuffed monkey!

Thanks very much!

Picked my bike up a few hours ago. Peeing down with rain (typically!)

Finding it difficult to get used to the low revving twin after the CB400 I have been on for my DAS. Just not very smooth at the moment :D

I'll give it a good going over and a service at the weekend as it looks like its due one from the history.

Nah ride it. Come out to play on the EAR end of summer ride on Sunday. It's only a paltry 300 or so miles.
