Which one?
I dunno thats why I'm asking you!
Which one would I tap my foot to at a gig? Or will I just be better staying at home cleaning up baby poo and icky sick?
OOOOOO my first ever poll, and it worked :-)
I've not heard of Whishbone Ash, but i've got tickets to Walter Trout in London...
Think something along the lines of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix and some older blues stuff rolled into one.
I'd forgotten how good Wishbone Ash were. Spotify'd some old favourites.
Cheers DB.

baby poo and sick sounds better to me!!
Saw Wishbone years ago, bit of a cult following nowadays but were trendy in the 70's and early 80's. Sort of a prog rock feel, from Hemel Hempstead iirc. Walter on the other hand, straight blues man, always has quality musicians in his band, I haven't seen him but have heard some of his stuff. Close call...comes down to either what you like or how adventurous you feel. Either way, make sure you make the event enjoyable...lunch out, drinks etc...have a ggood time...that way you'll enjoy who ever you choose to see.
Get someone else to sort the baby poo, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Old peoples music, plus much more cultured than that XFactor crap;)
Stingo, although Wishbone Ash is within the boundaries of musical taste I listen to, they are one that I've missed hearing(dunno why) I've not heard of Walter Trout however. Again, hes someone I've missed, and I have been exposed to an absolutely astounding amount of decent music over the years.
Reason for asking Darren, is that I am to be taking someone out for a landmark birthday and they can't decide which one to go to, as they don't want me to be bored, so has left it for me to decide, as they love both.
Walter Trout without a doubt. i have just recently heard his stuff. wishbone ash only really done one good track.
just going by the music as i have never seen any of them in concert.

Oh that's nice;)
Not only do I drive an Audi like your dad (probably the same age), I now listen to old people's music.
OMG! I can remember when a Mars bar was less than a tanner. 2.5p to you young folks

When I say old peoples music, it goes something like this
I've attended a few gigs in the past, when the majority of people have been over the age of 40, they've often commented on me and those with me, that we are a bit young to have ever heard of whoevers playing, and are usually interested to how or why we are there, or how we've gotten into the sort of music playing. Its usually welcomed that we don't listen to xfactor crap, or music of today.
Bearing in mind I'm not so young at just short of 34!
I much prefer anything from 60s 70s and 80s, from pyschedelia, blues and jazz to old goth. Until it changed hands I used to be in a local pub every week on jazz night.
I do like a small amount of rock and symphonic metal, and have been friends with a lot of well known doom/death metal musicians for years.
It also helps when one of your long time friends has owned a record shop as far as you can remember (sweet 16 when I first stepped through the doors) and can recommend lots of lovely albums for you to try.

Been an old person,:( we have seen Danny Bryants Red Eye Band 2 or 3 times (Keighly Blues Club, Skegness)who is a prodigy of Walter Trout and they where brilliant. Have a couple of Walter Trout CD's that are good. If you are into rocky blues you will like him.
