View Full Version : rear end ideas, tail tidy? (curvy)
Ive been toying with getting a tail tidy for my curvy as the standard chunky number plate light looks pants TBH.
Ive seen tail tidies on ebay etc, but havent seen a pic of the rear end of the bike to see what they look like fitted, and with the lights on.
Has anyone fitted or made one of their own and changed the rear light.
I recon a pointy rear light and a tail tidy of some sort (bought or fabricated) would neaten the back up a treat.
Thanks, Lee

Think mine is a powerbronze one.Number plate needs moving up to hide the bracket, but its a big improvement on the snow shovel.
Was black, but colour matched by my sprayman

No,number plate light is an Evo tech led item,
numberplate & indicator bracket is from a Ebay seller. Good quality item

that is one clean ass curvy
thats the sort of thing that would do, of course I forgot I`ll need to deal with my standard indicators too.
Added to my watch list so I can get some ideas together. wanted to change the rear light if possible, may have to wait until I take it off the road for the winter so i can have a good look around the back of the bike to see what might work.

Not as clean as it was in the picture, as I haven't cleaned it since the AR in August
Plus it'll get dirty tomorrow as well ;)
It'll get a clean this week

got a link for that? just trying to get enough info to make my choice really.
Ive saved the link for the template for the undertray I found in some other topics, but from what ive read its a pain to get printed onto paper without grief.

^^^ just an ebay cheepo but its where i got mine http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-SV-650-UNDERTRAY-99-2002-NEW-/250697880872?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a5ec21528
like i said fit wasnt great but its a cheap tray.
Thanks, will save me the agro of printing off the template and making my own. I still fancy fitting a pointy rear light, as i think they look better, but seeing your rear end pics :p im not sure if i can do something to get a pointy light to fit.

What does fitting the powerbronze tray involve? Do you need to cut/modify the standard tray or just remove it?

Remove battery, rear side panels, grab rail etc. Remove stock undertray.
Replace with Powerbroze item. Not to tricky,
When I did mine I didn't have the fitting kit :smt120 I also bought a 2nd hand stock undertray which I cut down a bit, so the battery was solidly mounted and gave the ECU somewhere solid to bolt it too

Cool. So the Powerbronze fitting kit includes a new battery tray etc then? I would just be loathe to chop up the standard one thats all :)

I would hope so, but I'd ask them before you buy.
Plenty of stock undertray's on ebay cheap as chips, and easy to mod.
Im going to give this a go:

but struggling to print it off, even got the cad department to try it with no luck.
Thats the hardest bit for me, as work in engineering factory so should be able to find the 22 guage plate I need.

Do you mean you can't open the template from the link? That link doesn't work, but I have a template for an ally undertray.
PM me your email address & I'll send it
template now sorted, im going to try 20 gauge or 1mm stainless sheet and see how that goes.
