Tapping noise from engine.

Whilst on way to work this morning I noticed a tapping coming from the front of my engine well thats where it sounded like it was coming from it has happened before but not as loud as this time i know that she is in need of a service but i am not a mechanic and have never owned a bike before so guess what i dont have a clue (any help is better than none) :confused::confused:

Im no expert but it might be your valve clearences or cam chain. What's the milage on the bike?

Its a 99 and it has about 33k on the clock but as i say i dont realy know a lot about bikes so its all new i know that it could do with a service so looking for someone in the Birmingham area that could do it....

Yeah I would get that done ASAP, make sure the service includes valve clearences check. Hopefully that will sort it.

Have you checked your oil?
If not its probably already too late.

Have checked the oil that is reading ok has been mentioned to me to check the cam chain tensioner could this be a possibility ???

What is the service history like on it?

yeah it needs a 30k service, which is quite a big one, im going to have to do it in about 800 miles myself.... your just a bit overdue, sv engines generally are a bit rattly like but if its concerning you get it checked out
