View Full Version : On 1st October I will no longer be employed...
...because I'll be self-employed. :D: I got confirmation today that the Financial Services Authority has approved the new firm that allows me to take over the insurance brokerage where I work. Loads of hard graft ahead - and mortgaged up to the frickin eyeballs in the teeth of a recession - but I'm made up.

congrats Tam.
Nice one.
And if the banks have reviewed your business plan, and still given you a mortgage on it in the current climate you must be a nailed on cert.

Well done you, sounds like it's been a long time coming, so relish all the hard work, it will pay off in the end :-)

Cheers. You're right. I've been working towards this for the best part of 3 years.

That jumped off the page at me Tam. Enjoy every second and when you're working 100 hour weeks and getting caught up in it all, remind yourself what you're doing it for.
I used to put little post it notes in really random places. I'd put one in a drawer that I maybe go in once or twice a year, one in a book I occasionally go to for reference, one in a jacket pocket of a summer coat (if it's winter) or a winter coat (if it's summer) and every now and then, you come across them and are reminded of the big picture and why you're working so hard, because it can be a tough daily grind.
You'll love it and I'm well pleased for you :-) :smt026
