I gave the Tiger a thorough strip and clean yesterday so I could ACF 50 it up for the coming salty season.

Took the bike out this afternoon, rode it onto the drive and smothered it in the purple protector.

Then, went to start it to warm the metalwork which makes the ACF spread. Bike wouldn't start, wouldn't show a neutral light, no priming sounds, nothing.

Fuses ; check

Clutch switch; strip and check.

Side stand switch; strip and check.

Check gearbox electrical conectors; all ok

Remove battery to reset ECU and dash, nothing.

Find Triumph book; check, no help.

Sit swearing at bike; check

Take key out, put it back in in the vain hope I was doing it wrong; check

Swear some more; check!

realise I had knocked the kill switch...

swearing continued for quite some time; check.

Pete :(

Lmao

I did similiar at work the other night.
I really just wanted to get home after a hellish 12 hour shift.

Sat for ages trying to work out she wouldnt start. Got off the bike, got on the bike, back off back on.

After an age of trying to figure it out and just about to get on the phone to Pops to bring petrol (my light had been flashing that morning) I realised that I hadnt turned the key to "on"

Ha, don't worry, I used to think my CB was dead because I'd flicked the killswitch by mistake. I also thought it was dying because it was gasping for fuel and I forgot to change onto the reserve.

I think I may have found the answer to this kill switch nonsense.
Just use it to switch off the bike :)
Then you always have to switch it on ;)

Someone I know tried to start his Ducati for about 5 mins or so before realising the kill switch was off.

5 mins is a very long time to be prodding on the kickstart of a sizeable two cylinder motorbike.

He was in a proper mess of sweating and puffing, we, of course, were extremely sympathetic.

Not :D.
