Blooming new house, put the heating on for the first time a few nights ago....
Last night it starts making weird noises, tonight it's stopped working all together, and I can't call the 'emergency contact' because it's after 9pm.
Alright, so it's not that cold, but it's surely shouldn't happen to a new boiler! And alright, it can wait until tomorrow but where am I going to get the hot water for my shower tomorrow?
AND I bet it'll take them ages to sort it and I'll have to take a day off work, even though the builders are still on site.
At lest it will give me an excuse to call them about all the other little niggles.....

It's a flame fault....not a pressure thing.
Wish it was that simple.
Good luck getting it sorted. Did you not get anyone to do some "snagging" before the house was given over to you to get the lil things you are finding sorted out quickly?
What are the name of the developers? Some are better than others at getting work done but at the end of the day it usually is down to how good the Site Manager is.

There's an ambient temperature sensor built into boilers so that they can detect when the weather gets colder. This triggers the automatic breakdown circuit and the boiler stops working until you can pay an engineer a huge amount of money to come out and fix it.
Yes, my boiler broke down last night too. British Gas are on their way to fix it, as all of the local independent companies have two week waiting lists, as they are so busy fixing other peoples broken down boilers.

Wilcon homes for you, or whatever they're calling themselves these days.
We're having a new boiler put in today. Ours gave up the ghost about two weeks ago. We waited and got someone local to us to fit it, as we knew he would do it properly as he only lives on the next road and my dad is quite an angry chap ;)

It's a Bellway. Yeah, I snagged, I'm kind of in building. But it's impossible to get everything. The boilers been working allright up until now on hot water only, but the extra load of the heating pushed it over the edge.
Got the customer care manager out today, apparently they put something in the loft in wrong and it was tripping a fail-safe. Back tomorrow to re-install the relevant piping. Still cold though.
