:santa:Jingle bells, our Mod smells and speedplay is ghey:santa:
Christmas is coming. I'll step up and organise our annual bash.
I can recomend some decent places to eat near me in Norfolk. Good places up on the coast or there's the Chequers at Wimbotsham....where they have the Fenman show. Bike friendly and good food.....bit local though. We've got some good cheap all you can eat Chinese buffets in King's Lynn..all you can eat for under £6....not christmassy but decent grub.
If we want something more central perhaps we could meet at Norwich, Cambridge or Peterborough.
Suggestions please.
I can't do the 18th of December weekend other than that I'm free.
I shall probably drive and bring Mrs Baddad.

Voted for 11th and 12th as the mini-me's are at their dads, but if it needs to be the previous weekend im sure i can sort a babysitter.
We need to find somewhere central, I think Peterborough is a no-go as its too far for the 'eastern lot' to travel, besides which its crap!!
Are you thinking of a lunchtime or evening do? Be good if everyone could try and bring their OH's, if its sunday evening Jeff probably wont be able to make it, so that get the thumbs-up from me!!! :p:p (only joking hun :smt047)

Cambridge is a great place to visit at Christmas. If we did Saturday 11th Mrs Baddad could take me shopping yay!
Not too far for Smeggons or Mr Spires.

Another thing, what sort of food and budget are we looking at. A quick search of places in Cambridge serving a 3 coarse Christmas lunch is about £25-30.
We could do pub grub or for the bat fastard's, that's me an all you can eat jobby.
I can't commit to a particular date yet but I'd be up for it. If the children can be looked after Mrs. Svrich could come too. The actual food doesn't matter to me but I'd appreciate trying to keep the cost down. Maybe a carvery?

Might struggle with a carvery on a Saturday......I'll start looking.
No idea on dates yet so I will leave voting for now - looking forward to see what you come up with Keith

Yeah no problem - as long as I can get a pass out :) Cambridge is an hour from me (I visit Great Shelford and Histon regularly).

Seeing as no-one wants to commit to a date until much nearer the time, maybe we should just choose one and go with it, and hope most people can make it.
Sundays are usually better so how about the 12th and that way as everyone organises their xmas stuff they can keep that date free??

Sundays are for nursing hangovers in December.
Can you imagine having a hangover headache and having to ride a rattly Duke?! ;)

There's an outside chance I won't be able to make this. Anyone want to pick a firm date and venue.
I have a feeling I can see where this is going...

Its very difficult to set a date when no-one's voted, but I really want this to happen and will do everything I can to be there whenever it is. I spend my days working in a kitchen with a bunch of old women talking about tv and stuff and I really need a dose of bike-talk, so dont let me down guys xx
Well we really need something around the Cambridge area to make it fair for most - hell I am fine with just meeting up at Red Lodge for a fry up or something - doesn't matter where we go as far as I am concerned...
I just need to be told a date, time and rough price and I can say whether or not I will be attending.
Simple easy food is best :)

Red lodge.....interesting. they could do us a Christmas fry up.
kellyjo

Red lodge is fine by me :p
Blimey it almost sounds like a throwaway comment has turned into an organised meet
I am not fussed either way - pick a date and lets do it - just not Sunday 12th December

Is this thread going anywhere or has it died a death?
As Essex is in East Anglia may I propose, due to lack of numbers in both regions, an amalgamation and pick someplace central to the region i.e Cambridge area with facilities for eating and cheap accommodation for those who would like a drink with the festivities

nothing other than the belts.. its been -1 in the shed and I didn't want to get frost bite changing the belts...
Just put electricity onto the shed so can now get a heater to stop the spanners sticking to my hand
ok I exaggerate slightly ... I have been slack
oh and a brake light switch..

Had my belts done in the summer, plus valve shims, hydrualic fluids, clutch piston seals and a couple of minor bits for about £200.
Karl Harrison at Harleston, he's a Ducati wizzard decent bloke that won't rip you off.

There is an ex Ducati mechanic based in Ipswich, specialises in Dukes.
He's an independant mechanic, I'll find out where he's based, as it was a chap at work who used him for an engine rebuild
He charges sensible money for servicing

He is also good with Aprilias too - not used him myself but I know plenty that have.
