Yep I'm registered. They're not much use to me when I'm gone. Also donate blood

I would donate blood but cant because of the regular tattoos I have.
Also I am terrified of needles :-?
I'm a registered organ donor.
I dont give blood though, I'm a big wuss.
Funny how you can have tattoos yet not give blood, I know a few people like that.

I probably would give blood if I was allowed. Would be hard but I could do it.
You have to wait up to 12 months after a tattoo to give blood, I dont think I have been 12 months without one!

+1
But I dont do the donor card thing.
It's a personal preference.
Theres a few other threads on here about it, if you look for them, you'll see that there are quite a few different views on it.

I don't have an actual donor card but I am on the register. I also donate blood, when I can. Should be nearly a year since the bite I had at work so was unable to give due to the risk of BBV such as HIV and Hep B and C.

Ive only just registered as a blood donor due to updating tattoos or getting a new peircing, looking at the docs they sent me though it states you cant give blood if..... You've had a tattoo, semi-permanent make up or any cosmetic treatments that involves skin piercing in the last 6 months.
Guess where im going next tuesday now :p
And i registered as an organ donor as soon as i passed my test, said they can take what they want! if i was in an accident i would greatly recieve organs (inc. Eyes) from someone else generous enough to donate, so figured it'd be a bit hypocritical if didnt!
They can take whatever they want, not sure what use it would all be to them though:)

I'm the same. They can have anything except my eyes! Really don't know why I have that hang up, but it's obviously something I'm not comfortable with.
I'm also registered to give blood, but I find it really hard to fit in around work.

For some reason I too can`t find it in me to donate my eyes but I have huge admiration for anyone who donates organs. I would imagine that in the event of your death it will come as a slight comfort to your friends and family to know that your death has not been in vain as it might have given someone else the gift of life.
It annoys me that due to having had a blood transfusion I am now no longer able to give blood and I really think this needs to be changed from a lifetime ban to something more short term.

Stre-ange! That makes three of us! Anything except my eyes!

I donate blood regularly and have done for the past 11yrs.
I'm also an Organ donor. They can have whatever they want, even using parts of my eyes.. if/when it comes to it its not like I'm going to have much use for them.
Blood, all organs (every last one of you if required :p), bone marrow and I've just signed up for platelet donation... If theres something I don't need that could help someone else out of a hole, they're welcome to it.
What did you have to do to register for Marrow donation? I've been meaning to do that for years.

I filled in and still carry an organ donor card in about 1977, When the register came out I made sure I was registered.
When I eventually married, I told my wife about the wish to be an organ donor and she was shocked to the point where she was opposed to it. she didn't know why except she didn't like the idea of me being cut up. Strange how attitudes have change. As she became ill herself and the possibility of a liver transplant being one day required. she now believes in implied consent to organ donation.
I once upset a family friend whose son was always threatening suicide by asking has he registered as an organ donor yet?

They can anything of mine, not sure how much use it will be ;)
They would have to wring all the cider out of my organs first i think.

You need to already be a blood donor, but its as simple as asking the attendant when you next go. They'll take an extra sample from the blood you give to check suitability, and you'll need to sign your life away again, but thats it.

Excellent. I'm up for that.

I'm not registered for marrow, and now I'm 50 I'm too old. What the hell diffo a few days makes is beyond me, the whole thing seems so arbitrary.
Yep, had a card for a while now. They can have all my meat when I'm done with it.

my eldest son died in a car crash 20 years ago at 19 - donated anything useful apart from his eyes - the following day it was kind of gratifying to know that 4 families were rejoicing over their good fortune....funny thing was I had no qualms about doing it.

Huge respect!
I've carried a card since the mid '70's, and have registered too.
But I'm a wuss and can't reconcile myself to the eye thing.

+1 ... wonder how many of you would take a donor eye if you needed one?
I'm a registered donor and have been for as long as I can remember. I have a daughter who suffers with sometimes life threatening heart problems that could well be cured with a transplant, but she doesn't qualify for one. If she did we'd take full advantage of the situation and she'd go on the list. With this in mind it would be very hypocritical of me to not be a donor.
When I go, they can have whatever because I don't believe in an afterlife or any other such nonsense. Mind you, most of it is absolutely bolloxed anyway, so it won't be much good to anyone.
Just got my organ donor card through.

cant remember now.. its on my driving licence and i think its everything except my eyes, although I think I could change that now..
registered organ donor - they can have what ever is useful inc eyes - my greatest fear is to be blind
give blood when the veins allow
signed up for marrow - but never been matched
also leaving body to medical research (if they want it) to research any further complications and hereditary stuff re my mums cancer.
The last was the hardest decision to do as the family may not get the body back for up to three years so not final closure for them. Mum agreed to do the same again due to her type of cancer. We were lucky that a lot of the progress and advancement of treatment was recorded as we went along so we didn't have to wait so long. But any wait seems to be forever. However selfish it may be I don't want to let someone else go through what we did if I can help after I'm gone.

Registered organ donor, cant remember if I put eyes in the end but it was the only thing I wasnt totally comfortable with. I dont know why, I know they are only going to rot away but still.
I dont give blood because I am a wuss and dont like needles. Used to be absolutely fine with them until I had my BCG in school, wasnt bothered by the needle but afterwards when leaving the room I got really light headed and passed out. Woke up with a nurse straddling me undoing my shirt buttons so it wasnt all bad. But since then I have really gone off needles. Mind you I have had a few fillings in the last couple of weeks and the injections didnt bother me as much as I thought they would - Bit different in your mouth I guess.
