Ducati UK are in the process of getting rid of a lot of their '10' plate demonstrators with a good discount.

For example 848 dark (not the most desirable) with a few thousand miles with around £1,500 off.

The dealer I've seen a few in is M&S Newcastle and they are expecting a few more in.

Just put this out there if anyone is after a ducati.

Regards

andy

It's "Ducati", but I won't edit your post for fear of starting World War 3 :)

M&S have had a few bikes in cheap, some expensive ones too. I was looking at one in there but it's sold already, they said they were due a lot of stock in two weeks (1 week ago) so I imagine it will be this lot.

Few thousand hard use miles, and only £1500 off?

Doesn't sound like a bargin to me ;)

I think they're cheap because Ducati made a spelling mistake.

I know for a fact the running in process on the Hyper and the Monster 1100 have not been adhered to. ;)

Mate I had to laugh at the other weeks changes (and the mayhem that followed) :smt044

Spelling mistakes is a fair one to change.

And you're proud of this fact?

Nope not really just saying...I didn't realise the rev limit was so low on the 1100 engine and it was only when it was bouncing off it I saw that the bikes only had about 45miles on the odometer.

Why?

Some bloke from Audi now heads of the quality side of Ducati. Reliability and servicing costs are no longer supposed to be an issue.

That's exactly the question I had in my mind.

Are they next to the sandwiches, or the £10 meals for two?

I can confirm the same for the 848 and 1198S...:D

Why?

Because I regarded your efforts to test ride and cane as many dealer demo bikes as a waste of dealer's time and money. They are there for prospective purchasers to test ride, not for members of the public who have no intention of spending any money to have a bit of fun on.

When we demo'd bikes at my last job they were always accompanied rides and we'd guide them round a route, bearing in mind most of the bikes were running in, so speeds were kept legalish. I had one guy trying a new ZX6R and he was told to follow me and keep the revs down because the bike was almost straight out of the crate. About 6 miles into the ride and he screams past me on a straight, so I chased him down and pulled him over. He wanted to know why I'd stopped him so I repeated what I said at the shop and asked him if he heard me, he said he had. I reached across, took the keys from the ignition and told him he could walk back or get a taxi, because he wasn't riding our bike any further. He started ranting about how he thought this was crap etc and he could have buggered off and left me for dead anytime and we then wouldn't be having this conversation, to which I replied "You reckon? I caught up and passed you on a 63bhp Versys, so maybe a ZX6R isn't the bike for you". I called the boss who came out in the van and took the bike back, and he graciously gave matey a lift back to his girlfriend at the shop.

People who waste salesmen's time by 'demoing' bikes when all they want is a bit of fun get my back up.

Not sure if you still regard my post as that after explaining but fair enough, I could see how that would be annoying from your point of view.

I ended up buying one of the models I test rode anyhow.

But you tested a lot of bikes you had no intention of ever buying for whatever reasons.
