View Full Version : SV1000 Gel Seat
Suzuki gel seat from an SV1000 K4 in excellent condition, no marks etc. This was bought recently after being assured it would fit a K5 SV650S, and needless to say it doesn't. I don't know if it fits the K3, but happy to take some measurements if anyone is interested. £80 inc p&p.

Just to help you out it should fit K3 onwards. :-)

Aren't K3 seats different to K4 onwards? If it doesn't fit a K5 it will only fit a K3.
Ron Ayers shows different part numbers for the SV1000, the SV650K3 and the SV650K4 onwards. I can personally guarantee it does NOT fit the SV650 K4 and later. It *might* fit the SV650 K3 but I don't have one to test it on!
Its from a SV1000 K4 though so it surely fits a SV650 K4. I bought a Gel Seat and it was K3 onwards I believe but I may be completely wrong...
The original seller told me he took it off his SV1000 K4, and also said it would fit my K5 SV650. It definitely doesn't fit my bike, so perhaps he was also mistaken about the bike it came of? :D
However, the Ron Ayers fiche shows three different part numbers for SV1000, SV650 K3 and SV650 K4+, so there must be some difference between them. Apart from the front mounting lugs being about 1 1/2" too wide and not quite lining up with the holes in the frame, the seat doesn't have the rubber pad in the middle that sits on the tank hinge bracket. Instead it looks like it sits on two rubber blocks that would be mounted on the frame in the same area as the bodywork mounting screws.
I have just taken a few pictures against my original 650 K5 seat to show the differences, perhaps someone can identify it.

He could be mistaken, mines a K3 but on a 54 plate :D
I don't think it would make any difference for the SV1000, the fiche shows the same seat used for both years. Does the base of the seat in the link above look like yours?

It looks lower, and more like the sv1000 K3 seat on my dad's bike.
